Atlanta-based Steelbox Networks, Inc., has introduced the Steelbox 1250 video appliance and the Steelvault 5300 network-attached storage array, designed to enable enterprises to handle large camera networks via a compact solution. The Steelbox 1250 is a network video recorder and distribution solution that allows simultaneous viewing, playback, and recording for up to 250 cameras. It includes a video management suite for viewing, system configuration, and network monitoring. It supports a variety of camera and encoder types from different vendors. The Steelvault 5300 includes hot-swappable drives, redundant power supplies, redundant fans, and hardware RAID for superior performance. The combined solution offers load balancing, firewall management, and storage management capabilities.
