Exacq Technologies has released exacqVision IP software, an inexpensive but full-featured network video surveillance system that operates on a Windows XP computer and is designed to integrate with any IT infrastructure. It uses the latest IP network cameras from manufacturers like Axis, IQinVision, and Sony, which offer higher video resolutions than standard analog cameras, increased camera functionality, and greater installation flexibility. Using existing IT networks instead of additional coaxial cabling, IP cameras are connected to the network via standard CAT-5 network cables or with a wireless connection. The software is suitable for small- and midrange installations with pricing based on the number of IP cameras (channels) per networked system.
