Instant Axess from LookC Limited of Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom, provides users with control of hundreds or thousands of doors spread over hundreds or thousands of sites from a single Web page. The controllers fitted to each site are inexpensive and plug straight into the Internet via an Ethernet router. There is no need for a PC running Windows or an access control database application on site. The system is managed using a browser from a single Web page. User movements can be seen by searching the unified log of tag activity, by door, tag holder, time, date, result, or any combination of these. All door controllers are in continual contact with the central server, and any offline controller alerts the manager via e-mail. Controllers use the company’s latest Spida processor and encryption engine.
