Indianapolis-based Stanley Security Solutions has introduced the MX8 Patented Keying System for flexibility and convenience without compromising security. A patented side pin ensures that cylinders and cores operate only with the proper key. The system is offered in two series of keyways. The M Series keyways are backward compatible with nonpatented BEST keyways, so the MX8 key will operate both MX8 cores and nonpatented cores. The X Series keyways are unique to the system and considered higher in security. MX8 keys can be manufactured only by Stanley, and all requests for keys are verified so that keys cannot be obtained without authorization. The system is compatible with all existing BEST figure-8 lock housings. Cores have individually capped pin chambers to minimize repinning for combination changes.
