Omnicast 4.2 is the latest version of the IP video surveillance security solution from Genetec Information Systems Inc. of Saint-Laurent, Canada. New features include support of Windows Vista for client and server operations. The “hidden site” feature allows managers to limit a user’s access to only a subset of entities in the system. It also allows administrators to hide cameras within the system so that they are completely covert. The new version also supports even more encoder and camera models from various partners, including cameras with tampering detection. It is available in seven languages, including English, French, Czech, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, and Spanish.
