On-Net Surveillance Systems Inc. of Suffern, New York, has released version 6.5 of NetDVMS, its leading network video recorder and camera management software, which is part of the newly-launched OnSSI Ocularis platform. The new software adds two-way audio functionality to the bundled NetGuard-EVS video client. Users can monitor and record audio from camera-connected microphones, and they can stream audio from the control room to camera-connected sound systems, allowing two-way interaction with monitored persons. The new version also supports different frame-rate video streams for live monitoring and recording, producing efficient data transport and reduced CPU loads on the servers. It supports MxPEG compression format, with H.264 and M-PEG4 ASP planned for future releases. The system also allows more integration with third-party access control and physical security systems. Higher archiving efficiency is achieved through multidisk archiving.
