Communications Networks of Danbury, Connecticut, doing business as ComNet, has introduced its first fiber optic video product. The FVT11M is a mini fiber-optic video transmitter for use over multimode optical fiber. It converts a single baseband video channel to an optical signal and transmits it up to 2.5 kilometers to a fiber optic receiver where it is converted back to baseband video for monitoring. Plug-and-play design ensures ease of installation. It incorporates a bicolor LED for monitoring system operation. It also offers protection on all power and signal input/output lines to protect from power surges and other voltage-transient events.
