KODAK TRACELESS Thermal Transfer Ribbon is a new addition to the KODAK TRACELESS System for Anticounterfeiting, which uses a forensically invisible authentication technology with materials that can be mixed with inks, toners, varnishes, and other items for analog and digital printing. Made by Kodak of Rochester, New York, the thermal ribbon is compatible with many thermal-transfer printers that print bar code and product identification labels. The ribbon automatically deposits a covert security marker on each label or item printed. The markers can be detected only with the hand-held TRACELESS Imaging Reader. Using the system with established bar code systems, brand owners can track and authenticate their products anywhere in the distribution chain.
