ADT Spain of Madrid has introduced a source-tagging system based on the Visual Source Tag concept, which combines the benefits of hard tags for textiles with in-factory fitting. The system ensures that items are protected by the SuperTag VST from the point of production through the point of sale. The small, lightweight tag provides dual protection. First, the tags deter shoplifters, because they are visible to the public and incorporate acousto-magnetic detection technology. Second, the articles arrive in the store correctly tagged, removing the need for in-store tagging and avoiding possible damage to the merchandise. The Inditex Group has implemented the system worldwide through its chain of ZARA stores.
