Brady People ID of Burlington, Massachusetts, has unveiled a new employee ID badge holder designed to prevent unauthorized data skimming of embedded information. The Secure Badgeholder provides a shield against unauthorized access to contactless information stored on PIV cards, CAC cards, and other contactless smart-card applications. The device provides a barrier to unknown or unauthorized wireless communications through the contactless interface. To activate a card, the user can squeeze the tabs on the holder, allowing communications to pass. Once the tabs are released, the card is shielded again. The rigid badge holder is resistant to weather and water.
