Communications Networks of Danbury, Connecticut, doing business as ComNet, has introduced fiber-optic video receivers for use over multimode-optical fiber. The devices receive a single baseband video channel as an optical signal from up to 2.5 kilometers away and convert the signal back to baseband video for monitoring.

Communications Networks of Danbury, Connecticut, doing business as ComNet, has introduced fiber-optic video receivers for use over multimode-optical fiber. The devices receive a single baseband video channel as an optical signal from up to 2.5 kilometers away and convert the signal back to baseband video for monitoring. The FVR10 features a manual-gain adjustment, while the FVR11 features automatic-gain control  to adjust changes in the camera output that might degrade video quality. These are among the first entries in the extensive line of fiber-optic video and data- transmission products planned by the new company.
