Bosch Security Systems, Inc., of Fairport, New York, has released the VIP X1600 XF, a multi-channel encoder/decoder with high-speed fiber connectivity that enables customers to combine encoder and decoder modules within a single rack-mountable base unit.


Bosch Security Systems, Inc., of Fairport, New York, has released the VIP X1600 XF, a multi-channel encoder/decoder with high-speed fiber connectivity that enables customers to combine encoder and decoder modules within a single rack-mountable base unit. Up to four hot-swappable encoder and decoder modules can be mixed and matched within the dual redundant power supply base unit. Users can add or exchange modules at any time without interrupting transmission to existing channels. The VIP X1600 XF series delivers increased network connectivity options for optimum video storage. The devices feature three Ethernet ports and a small form factor pluggable optical transceiver slot. They offer direct connection to an iSCSI storage array or fiber connection to a remote storage-area network. Decoder modules feature four analog video outputs plus bi-directional audio.
