Axis Communications of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, has introduced the AXIS Q1755, a network camera with HDTV performance in compliance with the SMPTE standard in resolution, color representation, and frame rate. The camera supports both H.264 and M-JPEG in full-frame rate. With day/night functionality and progressive output, the camera provides exceptional images in all lighting conditions, even for fast-moving objects. It offers 10X optical zoom and 12X digital zoom. The camera has a built-in slot for an SD/SDHC memory card, enabling extra storage without external equipment. Power over Ethernet eliminates the need for power cables and reduces installation costs. Intelligent features include enhanced video motion detection, audio detection, and detection of camera tampering. Gatekeeper functionality means that the camera automatically zooms in when there is activity in the scene and then zooms out after a preset time interval.
