Small- to mid-sized businesses can now purchase goEntry, a simplified card-reader security system, from Lenel Systems International Inc. of Pittsford, New York. Designed for use by those with no prior access-control experience, the standalone access control system requires no servers. The software is embedded in a single control unit, eliminating the need for a dedicated computer. Managers can set up and operate the system from any networked computer running Windows Internet Explorer 7.0. The system can control up to 16 card readers and accommodates up to 500 cardholders. It displays up to 5,000 events and offers centralized system management, event monitoring in real time, photo ID import, and the ability to create access levels and schedules. Should security needs grow, a business can migrate to an OnGuard integrated security system while preserving the goEntry data and hardware investment.
