Gamewell-FCI of Northford, Connecticut, now offers video smoke detection (VSD), which detects smoke in large areas and challenging environments affected by airflow, stratification, and background movement. Computer analyses of images from standard CCTV cameras identify smoke at its source, producing fast, reliable results. Developed by D-Tec, the Fire­Vu line of VSD products is now available for use with Game­well-FCI’s portfolio of fire alarm systems. The detection can be used with existing cameras, and information from multiple cameras can be combined to enhance detection.
