SafeData, LLC, of Warwick, Rhode Island, has announced its new backup and recovery appliance for both the IBM System i and Windows environments. SafeData Vault provides customers with both local and remote backups, so customers can recover data locally if a file is lost or a computer has been affected by a virus. If a disaster occurs, such as a flood, hurricane, or major system failure, the off-site backup assures that data can be recovered. Users can create “vaults” locally and off-site without additional expense. For one monthly subscription fee, clients can manage on-site backups and provide replicated storage off-site with full recovery to its inventory of System i and virtual Windows systems. Recovery can be accomplished in a matter of hours.
