Secura Key of Chatsworth, California, has introduced a new Wireless Network Module, which allows its SK-ACP two-door access control to connect to a LAN to monitor and control an access control system. The module replaces expensive outboard network adapters and eliminates the requirement for an additional enclosure, cabl-ing, and power supplies. It also enables networked access in locations where there is no preexisting Ethernet cable. The compact SK-WLS MOD for 802.11b/g plugs directly into and is powered by the panel. The module can be configured remotely over the network. It uses Transmission Control Protocol to assure that no data are lost or duplicated.
