The new RezShield System from Kaba Multihousing & Institutional of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, offers an easy way for residents of senior living and assisted living housing to access their rooms. Residents don’t need the dexterity to use a key or keypad; they simply present a fob, wristband, or keycard to the contactless lock to gain admittance. The system stores lock-use history, tracks staff credentials, and monitors staff and resident activity. Property managers can cancel or immediately reprogram a lost or stolen key without the expense of rekeying locks. The system includes easy control via Web-based software, scalability to support up to 16,000 rooms, and extensive reporting capabilities. The system works with the 79 contactless RFID electronic lock, which offers multiple locking options and is tamper-resistant.
