Bosch Security Systems, Inc., of Fairport, New York, has introduced the GVS1000 Long Range Imaging System, an integrated day-night, pan-tilt-zoom surveillance solution for critical security applications. It provides detection, classification, recognition, and identification capabilities in total darkness. The infrared (IR) imager offers 1 kilometer of recognition-level imaging, and 1,200 meters of classification-level imaging for critical applications such as maritime monitoring, transportation surveillance, and extended perimeter security. The camera features advanced optics, including an IR-corrected long range lens capable of 60X optical zoom. The lens works in conjunction with the high-performance Bosch Dinion sensor, using two sets of active IR illuminators for both long- and short-range nighttime imaging. IR illumination can be controlled manually or automatically.
