Digital Monitoring Products of Springfield, Missouri, has released Version 205 software for its DMP XR100/XR500 Command Processor panels. Now users can control their alarm systems via SMS text commands from a cell phone or a browser. The alarm system can send text and e-mail messages to up to three destinations. In addition, the new In Touch Messaging allows users to arm and disarm the system, control outputs, retrieve system status, and perform other functions from a cell phone. Each command received by the panel is acknowledged via return SMS message. The system limits excessive cellular messages to avoid unexpected cell phone fees. The new software also expands name field from 16 to 32 characters.
