A new security system from Dallas-based Axcess International Inc. automatically determines in real time if a person is carrying proper identification and is authorized to be in a given place. By replacing manual ID access control cards with the company’s Dot MicroWireless Credentials, security professionals can use a new portfolio of applications including automatic access control, visitor tracking, loss prevention, emergency evacuation accounting, and intrusion detection. The same size as traditional badges, the wireless credentials include transceivers and a battery. The automatically activated devices last for years, sending short messages around the local facility. Alerts are sent via e-mail, SMS text, or standard industry alarm through the security system. Badges are compatible with existing access control systems.
