ChemSight CS450 series detectors detect and identify airborne chemicals within seconds. New from Avir Sensors of Charlottesville, Virginia, the detector was developed at the University of Virginia and tested in a metropolitan subway system. It can monitor air up to 45 meters away and detect and identify multiple chemicals and interferants. The system requires no consumables and little maintenance. It can be installed permanently to continuously monitor building ventilation systems, transportation facilities, or critical perimeters, or it can be used for temporary installations. The detector is a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology with SAFETY Act designation.
