Time-expiring visitor badges change color to prevent reuse and to eliminate the need to collect them before visitors depart. Now Visitor Pass Solutions by Data Management, Inc., of Farmington, Connecticut, is making expiring passes for use with thermal printers. The Direct Thermal TAB-Expiring Visitor Pass eliminates the need for multiple parts to activate the badge. The self-adhesive badges come on rolls to fit the printer. Once a badge is printed, it is peeled from the liner and a tab is folded behind the badge to activate the color-changing chemistry. Overnight, “VOID” appears on the badge. Once activated the expiration process cannot be reversed.
