Environics USA of Abingdon, Maryland, has introduced the ChemProFX, a permanently mounted gas and vapor detector that provides continuous detection of chemical warfare agents (CWAs) and selected toxic industrial chemicals (TICs). It has high sensitivity and superior false-alarm rejection in a user-friendly and low-maintenance package. The device draws in an air sample us­ing a continuous pump and uses an array of detection technologies to detect gases and vapors. It has no consumables and is designed for long life with low operating cost. Its small size and inconspicuous housing allow for easy installation. It comes loaded with a list of chemicals, but custom chemical lists can be created.
