SYColeman of Arlington, Virginia, has introduced the Praetorian Surveillance System, an open-architecture, scalable software suite that offers surveillance for even complex and densely populated sites. It consists of three modules: the Video Flashlight three-dimensional surveillance interface and information monitoring platform; the Hawk multiple-site information management platform; and VisionAlert, a customizable video analytics and alert system. The system allows operators to see a total picture and virtually patrol security areas, moving through the 3-D environment, indoors, outdoors, around corners, high, and low. It provides for tactical threat, pattern recognition, and forensic analysis on a site-by-site or global basis. User-defined alarm configurations can notify the system about motion, breaches, loitering, and abandoned objects.
