TAGSYS of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, worked with Qantas, the leading Australian airline, to develop a reusable RFID baggage tag for improving baggage handling and security. The tags can store details of up to four flights and can be reprogrammed for future flights. TAGSYS designed the medallion-style RFID passive inlay, which is encased in a custom plastic housing. The Q Bag Tags are used in conjunction with contactless loyalty cards that customers can use as permanent boarding passes and to facilitate passenger identification at the automated check-in baggage stations.
