KidSpotter of Dublin, Ireland, offers a child-location system for use in amusement parks and other entertainment venues. It integrates wireless and satellite networks with mobile technologies. At a KidSpotter-enabled location parents can rent a Spotter wrist device that broadcasts the child’s location to the server. Parents text the Spotter’s unique code to a short number to link their cell phone to the child’s Spotter. If a parent and child are separated, he or she texts “help” to the same short number. The location of the child is sent to the parent’s cell phone and to the venue’s security personnel. The system works indoors and outdoors. The wrist device is tamperproof, waterproof, lightweight, and comfortable to wear.
