Genetec of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, has introduced the Security Center Mobile application for its unified security platform, the Security Center. It allows operators to connect to the platform over any IP wireless network with BlackBerry and Ap­ple devices so that operators and security guards can remotely monitor and control video surveillance and access control systems while away from their desks. The feature can transcode incoming video and stream video feeds, as well as push events and alarms to hundreds of users. Powerful search capabilities also allow operators to quickly locate and view the status of any door and view video from thousands of available cameras. Using the larger iPad allows us­ers to view up to six simultaneous video feeds.
