The DX-CD2 from Security Engineered Machinery of Westboro, Massachusetts, permanently removes digital information from compact discs, including CD-ROMs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, and WORM CDs. The portable device quietly and completely grinds the information layer off a disc in less than 19 seconds, with no possibility of data recovery. It complies with pertinent HIPAA, FACTA, Sarbanes-Oxley, and Gramm-Leach-Bliley requirements. It also meets NSA/CSS Specification 04-02 for optical media destruction devices and NIST SP 800-88 Standard for optical disc destruction. The unit comes with two cutting blades and two vacuum collection bags. Options include a 100-disc automated feeder, and a DVD splitter attachment.
