Light Line is a new pedestrian warning system from DSTA of Madrid, Spain, that works with traffic lights to change from red to green when it is safe to cross a street. Golden Dragon light-emitting diodes from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors of Sunnyvale, California, provide the color-changing lights. The warning lights are integrated into the pavement and provide reinforcement for the traffic signals. The robust lights are not affected by wind or weather, and they have an average operating lifetime of up to 100,000 hours.
