The so-called smart grid is all the rage, but rushing headlong into networked utilities may not be wise, according to John Bumgarner, the research director for security technology for the U.S. Cyber Consequences Unit (US-CCU) and a senior research fellow in international security studies at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy of Tufts University. Bumgarner talks about the issue with podcast host Laura Spadanuta. Other topics include travel security, court cases on e-mail privacy and attorney-client privilege, and a look at changing attitudes about the laws governing electronic communications.
