Iris reader

- Panasonic Security Systems of Secaucus, New Jersey, has introduced a new iris reader that provides noninvasive biometric identification and authentication. The BM-ET200 Iris Reader combines video and imaging technology with a new iris image-capture engine and dual mirror design.

Privacy lock

- The E-Plex 5000 Series by Kaba Access Control of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is now available with a privacy lock option. The privacy feature is activated by turning a knob on the inside lock housing.

Card printer

- Datacard Group of Minnetonka, Minnesota, has launched the Datacard SP25 card printer, which offers rewritable card-printing technologies and prints in full color or one color.

- SAFE is a new application suite from Quantum Secure, Inc., of San Jose, California, that enables users to centrally define, document, deploy, and enforce physical security policies across multiple sites and systems.

- Honeywell of Louisville, Kentucky, has launched Pro-Watch Release 3.7 software, which offers a complete security management solution, including access control, alarm monitoring, video badging, and CCTV system interface.

Energy-saving locks

- The SDC 1571 series EMLock provides 1,200 pounds of holding force using only 3 watts of power. Made by Security Door Controls of Westlake Village, California, it reduces installation costs by requiring fewer or smaller power supplies.

Complete security solution

- Indianapolis-based Integral Technologies, Inc., has integrated its DigitalSENTRY Network Video Software and Intelli-M PoE control, plus a PoE switch and IP cameras, to make a “pure IT” end-to-end security solution.

Power distribution

- New FireSwitch Power Distribution Modules from Altronix of Brooklyn, New York, are designed for use with access control locking devices. They incorporate an FACP interface to unlock doors and enable emergency egress when fire alarms are activated.

Document verification

- Identity verification technology from Intelli-Check, Inc., of Woodbury, New York, has been added to the PassagePoint Visitor Management software systems from STOPware, Inc., of San Jose, California. Intelli-Check’s DCM/2 data capture module can confirm the authenticity of a government-issued identification document.

Video software

- Version 3.1 of the XProtect Central software is now available from Copenhagen-based Milestone Systems. Working with the XProtect Enterprise 5.6 server, it ensures maximum operation of large video surveillance installations.
