Biometric authentication

- The Sargent BioFob from ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions of New Haven, Connecticut, is a handheld, wireless, biometric fob that uses fingerprint-based biometrics to authenticate the identity of the fob owner before granting access to items including locks, computers, or other equipment enabled with proximity card access control.

Electrified locks

- The SDC Selectric 7800 series from Security Door Controls of Westlake Village, California, allows the electrification of all major brand mechanical locksets, including SDC, Schlage, Yale, Corbin Russwin, Sargent, Best, Arrow, Dorma, and Marks.

Security management

- S2 Security Corporation of Wellesley, Massachusetts, has introduced the S2 NetBox XL, which addresses large-scale deployments of S2 NetBox systems and S2 Network Nodes, making it possible to scale systems across any geography while providing both local and remote Web-based control.

Compliant ID middleware

- Sagem Morpho Inc. of Tacoma, Washington, has received Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS-140-2 and FIPS-201) certification for its Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Middleware.

Airport security management

- The Pro-Watch Airport Pack is an enhanced version of the Pro-Watch Security Management system from Honeywell of Louisville, Kentucky.

Web-hosted access control

- ADT Security Services, Inc., of Boca Raton, Florida, has launched a new version of its ADT Select Entry Web-hosted access control service that integrates video with access control events.

Iris reader

- Panasonic Security Systems of Secaucus, New Jersey, has introduced a new iris reader that provides noninvasive biometric identification and authentication. The BM-ET200 Iris Reader combines video and imaging technology with a new iris image-capture engine and dual mirror design.

Privacy lock

- The E-Plex 5000 Series by Kaba Access Control of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is now available with a privacy lock option. The privacy feature is activated by turning a knob on the inside lock housing.

Card printer

- Datacard Group of Minnetonka, Minnesota, has launched the Datacard SP25 card printer, which offers rewritable card-printing technologies and prints in full color or one color.

Converged security management

- SAFE is a new application suite from Quantum Secure, Inc., of San Jose, California, that enables users to centrally define, document, deploy, and enforce physical security policies across multiple sites and systems.

Security management

- Honeywell of Louisville, Kentucky, has launched Pro-Watch Release 3.7 software, which offers a complete security management solution, including access control, alarm monitoring, video badging, and CCTV system interface.

Energy-saving locks

- The SDC 1571 series EMLock provides 1,200 pounds of holding force using only 3 watts of power. Made by Security Door Controls of Westlake Village, California, it reduces installation costs by requiring fewer or smaller power supplies.

Complete security solution

- Indianapolis-based Integral Technologies, Inc., has integrated its DigitalSENTRY Network Video Software and Intelli-M PoE control, plus a PoE switch and IP cameras, to make a “pure IT” end-to-end security solution.
