Megapixel Cameras

- The IQeye Sentinel Series from IQinVision of San Clemente, California, features a tamper-resistant enclosure that comes fully integrated with a high-resolution camera and lens system. It can be mounted on walls or ceilings without special mounting hardware and requires only a single tool for all adjustments.

Power Module

- The HubSat remote video/data/power accessory module from Altronix of Brooklyn, New York, works as a transmitter, receiver, and power controller. It allows video feeds from four cameras to be transmitted to a remote designated location via a single structured cable while supplying the required camera power.

Outdoor Dome

- A new weatherproof dome camera from Speco Technologies of Amityville, New York, offers resolution of 540 lines and resistance to tampering. The HT-7247iHR uses a 9- to 22-millimeter auto-iris varifocal lens to produce sharp pictures.

IP Camera

- Pelco of Clovis, California, has introduced the Pelco IP3701 Series Color Network Camera, which is built on an open architecture for flexibility in connecting to existing IT and security investments. Users can view and control the cameras via a standard Web browser, using the company’s Endura video systems, or through many available third-party software offerings.

Camera Domes

- Vicon Industries Inc. of Hauppauge, New York, has introduced the VC-700S and VC-710S Series of fixed-position camera domes. Both series’ domes incorporate a fixed camera and lens combination and are configured for in-ceiling or surface-mount installation.

Thermal Imager

- ICx Technologies of Billerica, Massachusetts, has introduced the next generation of rugged thermal imagers with better protection against water and particulate intrusion. VisionIR offers a low-cost, low-power-consumption alternative for the military and commercial security markets.

IP-Ready Cameras

- Sanyo Security Systems of Chatsworth, California, announced that all of its Sanyo Pan-Focus and new pan-tilt-zoom cameras are engineered to be IP-ready—even analog cameras in fully analog installations. The addition of a specially engineered IP board can be completed within minutes without interrupting business operations or replacing entire systems.

Covert Camera

- The Graffiti Cam is a new covert surveillance solution that immediately notifies police of graffiti-related activity. Made by Law Enforcement Associates Corporation of Youngsville, North Carolina, the unit consists of a high-resolution video recording unit concealed in an all-weather enclosure.

Network Camera

- Verint Systems, Inc., of Melville, New York, has extended its IP camera line with the Nextiva S2750e, a feature-rich and cost-effective mini-dome IP camera. The camera leverages the company’s video encoding technology for high-resolution viewing without overburdening available network bandwidth or storage.

Thermal Surveillance

- FLIR Systems, Inc., of Portland, Oregon, has released the HRC, a long-range, large-format security camera system. Its long-range, mid-wave thermal camera offers a range capability of more than 20 kilometers. Tunable digital detail enhancement gives operators exceptional image quality, and advanced image processing helps operators break out targets even in adverse conditions.

Autofocus Cameras

- Sanyo Security Systems of Chatsworth, California, has added two new cameras to its line of autofocus zoom cameras. Available for use with NTSC and PAL color standards, the VCC-ZM600 and VCC-XZ600 offer day and night functionality with a motorized 30X optical or 16X electronic zoom lens. Both cameras feature high sensitivity in low-light conditions. The VCC-XZ6900 has the added benefit of weatherproof housing for exterior applications.

Bullet Camera

- The new HCD92534 True Day/Night IR camera from Honeywell of Louisville, Kentucky, offers a combination of infrared LEDs and day/night functionality with 530 TV lines for exceptional low-light performance.

Thermal Camera

- Flir Systems, Inc., of Portland, Oregon, has launched the VSR-6 thermal security camera, a passive thermal camera that provides clear video images of intruders based on their body heat. The camera includes the company’s advanced image processing technology to deliver excellent vision in total darkness and through smoke, dust, and light fog.
