- A wearable digital camcorder that can record up to seven hours of video and audio has been launched by iRes Technology Corp. of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The 31⁄2-inch recorder provides hands-free video and audio recording at the touch of a button.

IP Cameras

- Vicon Industries Inc., of Hauppauge, New York, has added three new models to its I-ONYX line of IP cameras.

Remote Surveillance

- SmarterDVR 200 from Smarter Security Systems, Ltd., of Austin, Texas, records, stores, and transmits video and snapshots taken by up to four outdoor surveillance cameras. Full pan-tilt-zoom control of connected cameras is enabled by intui­tive client software or a Web interface.

- CBC (AMERICA) Corporation of Commack, New York, has unveiled the Computar 3 Megapixel Varifocal IR Lens. Model H3Z4518­CS-MPIR is engineered to capture the full resolution of meg­apixel cameras.

Outdoor IP Cameras

- Extreme Series IP Cameras from Bosch Security Systems, Inc., of Fairport, New York, combine advanced optics, active-infrared illumination, IP connectivity, and on-board intelligent video analysis in a rugged housing.

- Axis Communications of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, has introduced the AXIS Q1755, a network camera with HDTV performance in compliance with the SMPTE standard in resolution, color representation, and frame rate.

- Zistos Corporation of Holbrook, New York, has introduced the new VRAD radio­logi­cal video adaptor that cost-effectively adds radiological detection to fixed or mo­bile surveillance camera systems.

H.264 Cameras

- IQeye Alliance Series vandal dome camera models with H.264 video compression and two-way audio are now available from IQinVision of San Juan Capistrano, California.

Impact-Resistant Domes

- Vicon Industries Inc. has expanded its Roughneck line of impact-resistant camera domes with two new models. The new mod­els—one analog and one IP-based—feature digital noise reduction so that they can perform in light levels as low as 0.3 lux.
