FIBER MEDIA CONVERTER

- ComNet, Communication Networks, of Danbury, Connecticut, has expanded its Ethernet product line by introducing a 1000FX fiber-op­tic media converter with power over Ethernet (PoE). The CNGE2­MCPOE supports the latest IEEE 802.3at PoE standard for use as power sourcing equipment, supplying up to 25 watts of power.

CARD HOLDER

- The convenient One Hander Card Holder from EK Ekces­sor­ies of Logan, Utah, works like a flip cell phone. Users can flip open the face of the protective clear case to expose the ID or proximity card for scanning, using only one hand. In the closed position, a protective shield prevents un­authorized scanning of the card.

- Honeywell of Melville, New York, has released a new technology platform for its Total Connect service that allows home and business owners to remotely manage security systems and view live video via PCs, smartphones, tablets, and other Web-enabled devices.

- Minneapolis-based Banner Engineering Corporation has introduced the EZ-LIGHT K50 Beacon Light, which provides intense light that can be seen from all directions.

RECHARGEABLE FLASHLIGHT

- Larson Electronics’ Magna­light.com of Kemp, Texas, offers the EXP-LED-51, a new explosion-proof re­charge­able LED flashlight that delivers high light output with rugged construction and a variety of lighting modes.

Night Vision

- American Technologies Network of South San Francisco, California, has introduced night vision technology for me­dium- to long-range viewing. The ATN Voyager Night Vision System allows the user to view the single optical system us­ing two eyepieces for comfort and to alleviate eyestrain during lengthy surveillance events .

Video Catalog

- Highlights include new CCTV products in categories such as IP, high-definition, hybrid DVRs, intense-infrared, crime-deterrent cameras, and the Configurator. The catalog offers expansive product information, specifications, and full-color diagrams.

Cargo Screening

- CEIA USA of Twinsburg, Ohio, offers a solution that improves screening of nonmetallic commercial cargo, such as produce, meat, printed materials, flowers, and apparel. The Electro-Magnetic Inspection Scanner (EMIS) quickly and accurately screens packages or pallets using a harmless, low-intensity electromagnetic field.

Video Decoder

- The new Siqura S-60 D-MC decoder from Optelecom-NKF, Inc., of Germantown, Maryland, recognizes and decompresses video from various encoders. It automatically recognizes and creates images from MPEG-2, MPEG-4, and H.264 encoders for analog viewing with minimal latency.
