- Atlanta-based ShatterGARD Inc. has developed a new security fogger that stops burglars by producing a dense wall of harmless fog that obscures an intruder’s vision. When triggered by a motion sensor or door trip, FogSHIELD ejects enough fog to blanket a space of 2,000 square feet in less than 15 seconds.

- ICx Technologiesof Washington, D.C., has developed the Illuminator, a surveillance camera with ambient illumination and near-infrared, offering a technology alternative to infrared devices for short- to mid-range use.

Secure fencing

- Wheatland Tube Company of Collingswood, New Jersey, has introduced a high-strength, high-security HS-83K fence framework, which is designed to provide greater stability from wind loads and to address perimeter-security concerns in high-risk areas.

Locks with 2 3/8" backset

- Kaba Access Control of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is now offering a 2 3/8” backset latch for use on an ASA 160-door prep.

Intrusion detection

- New fiber-optic intrusion detection systems from the Fiber Patrol division of Optellios of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, incorporate the ViconNet Digital Video Management System made by Vicon Industries, Inc., of Hauppauge, New York.

Video software

- Version 3.1 of the XProtect Central software is now available from Copenhagen-based Milestone Systems. Working with the XProtect Enterprise 5.6 server, it ensures maximum operation of large video surveillance installations.

Access Control

- Sielox of Thorofare, New Jersey, has upgraded the capabilities of its Pinnacle access control software. Version 5.0 includes an automatic reconnect feature when a network connection has been lost, without the necessity of having the client logged in as an administrator.

IP dome cameras

- IndigoVision of Edinburgh, Scotland, has developed a range of dedicated IP Dome Cameras for indoor and outdoor applications. The units are compatible with the company’s Control Center Video and Alarm Management software and its networked video recorders.
